In this role as a Clinical Assessor, you will be undertaking Personal Independence Payment assessments and examinations required for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). Your primary function will be to analyse and interpret clinical information andmedical evidence to provide a professional, concise report.A business with a futureAs a Clinical Assessor, you will play an integral part in many peoples lives as without you, the DWP could not provide vital Personal Independent Payment (PIP) services. The ability to type, talk and listen simultaneouslyMain Duties/Responsibilities As a Clinical Assessor, you will:
  • Analyse and interpret clinical information and medical evidence and provide a report in a professional and concise manner.
  • Work to agreed standards/targets and to respond positively to feedback.
  • Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive working relationships with both medical colleagues and administrative support staff.
  • Have highly developed communications skills and be able to respond to rapidly changing work environment.
  • Work unsupervised and use own initiative however know limitations and ask for support where necessary.
  • Undertake any ad hoc responsibilities as requested by the Site Manager or Clinical Lead.
  • Be able to apply professional skills and manage your own professional competence and accountability in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications Essential
  • Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with current PIN and a minimum of one year post registration experience.
  • Previous experience of disability assessment/clinical decision making, e.g. A & E or NHS Direct is desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task, demonstrating that you can listen, assess, and take notes and have the confidence to control an assessment.
  • IT literate with experience in using a range of software.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Evidence of responding to unexpected changes by adopting a flexible approach to work.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
