Job Description

The RoleAssistant Management Accountant - Permanent Role - Hybrid WorkingReporting directly into the Management Accountant, this role will focus on the production of all required internal and external financial management information including internal and external performance indicators.Main duties will include:

  • Maintain all financial records required to produce the companys internal and external financial management information and reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the review by the Management Accountant and Head of Finance, investigate variances and action any necessary corrections.
  • Assist with development reporting and performance monitoring.
  • Liaise with budget holders as necessary in order to produce and distribute management accounting information in accordance with agreed timescales.
  • Monitor holding/control account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Assist with the preparation of the year-end accounts by providing supporting schedules and liaise with the internal and external auditors as necessary.
  • Assist with the preparation of the companys capital and revenues budget by preparing schedules and liaising with budget holders as required.
  • Assist the Management Accountant with the preparation of the management accounts and financial reporting information on a monthly basis.
  • Work with managers and heads of service on interrogating and setting budgets.
  • Perform journals and other accounting entries on accounting systems to match income and expenditure to budget.
  • Undertake detailed business analysis on financial and operational performance
About YouThe ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • Experienced in financial management, reporting, budgeting and analysis.
  • Budgetary control and management
  • Fixed Assets experience
  • Ideally Part Qualified CIMA or ACCA - or Qualified by Experience
  • Hard working and able to work well as part of a team
