Job Description

Project / Senior Quantity SurveyorLocation – Reading (Flexi-working)Salary - £60,000 -75,000 per annum plus car allowance and packageMy client are currently recruiting for a Project / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.The ideal Project / Senior Quantity Surveyor will have prior experience in working on highways projects/contracts.Senior Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

  • The main purpose of a Senior Quantity Surveyor is maximising the commercial results and cashflows of projects whilst developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
  • Visit sites to monitor and report on site progress, collating records and measurements for raising applications for payment.
  • Raise applications for payment and chase payments.
  • Ensuring there is effective cost management of the project through regular and accurate forecasting of cost and value.
  • Work with the buying team on the procurement process to maximise profit and ensure supply chain and subcontract orders are placed on time and in accordance with the company policy. (including references taken, suitable levels of HSEQ etc)
  • Make payments to suppliers and monitor spend against budgets.
  • Communicate the commercial progress of the projects to the wider team.
  • Support, advise, develop and train all members of the site team on commercial matters
  • Mentor junior members of the commercial team.
Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements:
  • Adequate experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Project Quantity Surveyor
  • Previous highway / road project experience (Resurfacing, Concrete works, Drainage Systems)
  • Knowledgeable in various types of NEC/JCT forms of contracts
  • Change/Subcontract/Supplies/Direct L&P as well managing the Risk & Early Warning Register
  • Hold relevant qualifications (i.e. Quantity Surveying/civil engineering)
  • Ideally have a corporate membership and An accredited course by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES).
