Job Description

PCB Assembly TechnicianAlfen is proud to be working with one of the market leaders in the space of Identity verification and contactless ticketing. Your life will undoubtedly have interacted with the best in class products designed and manufactured by this Reading based business.As part of their substantial organic growth we are looking to find the perfect candidates to grow their team.The PCB Assembly Technician will be responsible for the manufacture of electronic assemblies which will include all aspects of soldering.Core Responsibilities:

  • Hand solder complex PCB assemblies including surface mount, through-hole and BGA devices.
  • Assemble boards from an assembly drawing & bill of materials (BOM).
  • Modify prototype PCB assemblies including cutting tracks and adding wire links.
  • Hand soldering surface mount components down to 0201 size and 0.5mm pitch connectors.
  • Place and reflow using a reflow oven (Although we dont use that at the moment).
  • Solder paste dispensing using stencil.
  • Post flow solder inspection and rectification of soldering defects.
  • Inspecting assembled PCBs.
  • Making up wiring assemblies to Engineers drawing.
Attributes
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work precisely with a focus on quality.
  • Computer literate to display BOMs and assembly drawings and read emails.
  • Able to work with a microscope.
Nice to have:
  • Assemble boards from BOM & schematic drawing.
  • Electronics prototyping, assembling and testing for R&D.
  • Experience troubleshooting PCBs, use of electronic components Electronic prototyping equipment e.g. Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Signal Generators.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing faulty PCBs.
