Job Description

This is a newly created opportunity to join a privately owned Global manufacturer. Due to continue growth in one of our subsidiaries Ceramex Ltd, based in Reading (RG2) who specialise within filter technologies. We now require a Night shift MangerThis is an exciting opportunity for a professional shift manager / Team lead ideally with a background spent within manufacturing, to play a key role in providing full support to the businessShift hours are: Sunday to Friday are 2245 to 0715The roleWorking within an engineering-based environment, the Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient processing of our customers’DPFs to meet volume and quality requirements for their designated shift. This will involve contributing to capacity modelling and resource management as well as the planning, co-ordinating and controlling the movement of all materials that form part of the production supply chain.The Shift Manager will manage, train, develop and organise their production team to maximise performance against processes and also identify and implement initiatives to improve throughput, efficiency, planning, and on-time in full delivery. This will include managing attendance, performance and quality of work.Directly manage the allocated team of Production Operators - total of 15 plus a Team leaderEnsure the company works work within relevant quality standards, driving to improve in all areasThe person

  • Background spent as a leader ideally within quality manufacturing & Lean processes - however would suit an accomplished Team leader seeking the next step up
  • Ideally must have a broad understanding of engineering/mechanical principles.
  • Visible shop floor leadership
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word etc), able to prepare and analyse production information, including statistical.
  • Successful track record of delivering on commitments.
