Job Description

About the role:Thames Water is looking for aLogisitcOptimisation Manager (LOM) to work within the Operations, Projects and Logistics (OPaL) team to deliver continuous improvement and cost savings by utilising, improving and maintaining ORTEC, the embedded planning, and scheduling system.The LOM is responsible for supporting the improvement, performance, and capability of ORTEC across Thames Water. The focus will initially be within Logistics and Operations. The role holder will be required to manage key stakeholders and liaise with the wider ORTEC organisation to ensure the sustainability and improvement of the software system. The role will report directly to the Logistics Control Manager.Key Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to improve and implement new working processes with ORTEC.
  • Become the ORTEC SME and maintain the system in support of all Thames Water Operations.
  • Identify current flaws/inconsistencies with the system and work with ORTEC to allow the team to utilise the software to its full design.
  • Lead and execute performance and operational reviews through to production of reports using Power bi.
  • Work closely with LOCC managers to identify the opportunity of cost savings and reduced risk to the business.
  • Lead implement and drive real-time reporting, visual across the business and at the executive level.
  • Support LOCC managers and schedulers by implementing and encouraging ORTEC best practice, management of maintenance, rotas and schedules.
  • Design and develop efficient and effective control frameworks within ORTEC.
  • Working closely with the Process and Compliance Manager to identify and evaluate areas for potential improvement in processes and controls while ensuring that all work adds value to the business.
  • Responsible for reporting findings and utilisation of OPaL assets, benefits realisation, and productivity.
  • To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:To be successful in this role you must have a high degree of credibility and experience in key operational areas; technical, logistics and scheduling software systems.You must also have a significant background in IT infrastructure including cloud-based services.
