Job Description

SENCO Primary-SEN School inNorfolkREED Education areworking with a specialist Special Educational Needs school on an exciting new position! The school caters for young people aged 6-19 who have Emotional, Social and/or moderate Learning Disabilities.Were currently looking for an outstanding SENCO to work within the Primary school!Duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for all pupils
  • Monitor teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of SEN pupils and track AFL data for the purposes of Annual Reviews, PEPs, LAC Reviews and assist with general School Reporting
  • Set targets for raising achievement among all primary pupils
  • Liaise with other schools to ensure continuity of support and learning when transferring SEN pupils
  • Set up systems for identifying, reviewing and monitoring need
  • To work with the Head and other key staff on developing the effectiveness of transition arrangements
  • Qualifications:
  • SENCO/Access Arrangement Assessor qualifications preferred, or the desire to acquire these
  • Knowledge and Experience:
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with SEN
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
