Occupational Therapist - Aurora EcclesHourly rate: £12.26 - £14.90 per hourClosing Date:OngoingThe Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.Our Aurora Eccles School in Norwich are looking foran enthusiasticOccupational Therapistto work as part of a therapy team. Aurora Eccles School provides flexible day placements for students aged 5-17 years with communication and associated difficulties or specific learning difficulties suchas dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning.We are looking for a talented and passionate person to join our united and skilled team and be part of the services exciting future.   • Ideally have post-graduate experience working as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist; however, newly graduate therapists will also be considered
  • Have experience working with children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental needs.
  • Have an understanding of the principles behind Ayres Sensory Integration Theory.
  • Have experience or knowledge of delivering provision through the EHCP process.
  • Have a clear understanding of relevant protection procedures and health and safety procedures including safeguarding and manual handling procedures.
  • Have knowledge of legislation relevant to Occupational Therapy, education and social care.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and school settings is desirable.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing.
  • Supportive, and with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • A creative and adaptable approach to work.
  • Ability to design and develop individual intervention programmes.
  • Ability to form good working relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Patience, determination to secure the very best for our students, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to demonstrate and commit to continual professional development.
  • High level of mental and physical stamina.
  • A strong desire to make a difference to young people.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in an Occupational Therapist role, preferably with children and young adults, ideal, but newly graduates also considered for role.
  • Have experience working with children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental needs.
