Reporting to the Sales Director, this role is as a Player-Manager, hitting your own sales targets whilst helpingthe team to hit theirs. The sales team goes to market through making outbound calls to companies across the UK to introduce their washroom products and services. Through their own contacts and market knowledge as well as online research, outbound calling,face-to-face meetings and presentations, they open new lines of business in their target markets. They are responsible for the full sales cycle: research, call, meet, propose, negotiate and close. It will your role to lead the way by showing them how to doit well through your own actions plus supporting them to meet and exceed their own targets.About you:Ideally, you will have 5+ years sales experience with at least 2 years managing a team. You should have a focus on new business generation rather than account management though a combination of the two will be welcome. You know how to set daily and weeklytargets for a team and monitor success, praising them when they do well and helping lift them when they struggle. Some sales coaching experience would be helpful though you can be taught how to do this by their Sales Director. An understanding of the hygieneworld or a similar kind of sales process to similar buyers will be a welcome addition but is not essential. Your sales and management experience is more important.Attitude:This is all important: running a small sales team in a family-run company is a fine balance and your approach to work needs to engender a spirit of enthusiasm, drive and focus day in day out. Driven to succeed, very hard-working and extremely tenacious, youwill find ways to make things happen with no excuses. The kind of person we want comes to the office each day with a smile, a kind word and the energy to make things happen.Skills:Strong telesales and face-to-face sales skills with a professional, consultative style along with outstanding organisation skills to track activity and conversion. Excellent spoken and written English is essential. You need a full clean driving licence andshould be happy to drive to meet clients. Strong IT skills, preferably with experience of Salesforce, are also required. On the management side, you know how to motivate a sales team, giving them enough support to excel but not micro-managing them out of allpersonal responsibility. Its the small daily details that make the difference to earning the respect of a team and driving them to success.Habits: Well-organised, punctual and hard-working, you should be happy to work independently to drive the sales team forward though youll be given plenty of support by senior management. The Next StageIf you are interested in the above role and feel you can meet the above requirements - we would love to hear from you as soon as possible.
