We have a fantastic opportunity for a Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our well-established and experienced team based in Derby. We have developed a strong philosophy of collaborative working within alliances and other project teams, together with implementing innovative systems and techniques to drive environmental excellence and wider project efficiency.Our Geo-Environmental Consultant will be responsible for site investigations for both geotechnical and environmental content, seeing the project through from commencement to completion. You will ensure all project work is carried out adhering to RSK Group procedures and completed within budget and timescale. Good communication skills will be needed plus financial management experience. You must work well within a team environment and be self-motivated. The successful candidate will be predominantly responsible for assisting with projects in the East Midlands (but could be in other areas of the UK).Key duties as our Geo-Environmental Consultant will include: - Running and/or supporting Phase I & II geo-environmental ground investigations for all scales of projects and types of site with senior support as necessary- Undertaking site works using a variety of intrusive investigation methods- Soil logging to current UK standards, including laboratory scheduling- Undertaking ground gas, vapour and groundwater monitoring- Writing factual and interpretative reports including quantitative risk assessment- Supervising remediation and earthworks projects (training provided)- Liaising with clients, regulators and internal specialists (as necessary)What were looking for in our Geo-Environmental Consultant:- BSc or equivalent in Geology, Environmental Science or similar- MSc desirable but not essential- Working towards Chartered status with a relevant institution- Typically requires at least 2-5 years specific relevant experience- An understanding of geology, ground investigation works, contaminated land, geotechnics- Basic knowledge of planning legislation- Able to complete factual and interpretative assessments to a basic level- Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy- Track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budgetIn return as our Geo-Environmental Consultant, we offer:- Commensurate with experience- Contributory Pension Scheme- Training by senior team members to enable technical and managerial progression- Significant support and encouragement to enable career progression- A flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays- We encourage Continuing Professional Development and as a Registered Practice with the Geological Society, we are committed to supporting candidates through the Pathway to Chartership.If you feel you have the skills and experience to become our Geo-Environmental Consultant, then please click ‘Apply’ today.All candidates applying for positions with RSK Group must be eligible to work in the UK/European Economic Area.RSK Group is an Equal Opportunities Employer
