The GMMH Psychological Therapies Training Centre (formerly the CBT Training Centre) is renowned for providing extremely high-quality training to students and Trainees in CBT and other evidence-based psychological therapies across the North West region and beyond. In 2018 the Training Centre was successful in securing national funding to deliver the Postgraduate Diploma in Education Mental Health Practice, as part of the national Children & Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) for Common Mental Health Problems. The year-long EMHP training programme prepares trainees to deliver low intensity therapies for mild to moderate mental health difficulties in education settings. Trainees are also trained in whole school approaches to improving children and young people’s mental health. When they qualify trainees will go on to work in new Mental Health Support teams. This Training course complements our established CYWP programme, training Children & Young People’s Well-being Practitioners. The CYWP programme also trains low intensity therapists, but with a community (rather than school) focus. We are now looking for a specialist lecturer & Tutor to support the expansion of these two exciting training programmes. Suitable candidates will have a background in Behavioural or Cognitive Behavioural based therapies for children and young people and be enthusiastic about training and skills development. You might have a training as a Low Intensity therapist yourself and have consolidated this with some further years’ experience since you qualified. Experience of the delivery of CBT based supervision, or BABCP accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist is advantageous though not a pre-requisite.Candidates will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, and be able to work alongside others, as part of a training team, participating in all aspects of delivery. The Lecturer and Tutor role includes regular delivery of teaching, supervision, student assessment and examination, providing support for students’ personal and professional development, academic planning and preparation and other duties as necessary for the provision of a high quality CYWP /EMHP education. This post is available immediately on a two-year fixed-term basis and will be subject to an Enhanced criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. We welcome secondment or job share arrangements. For further details / informal visits contact:Name: Martin CareyJob title: EMHP Programme LeadEmail address: martin.carey@gmmh.nhs.ukTelephone number:
