Job Description

Exciting opportunity has arisen in our compliance department for a Trainee Compliance Officer which is a role that offers progression through the business to variety of senior roles including a Compliance Manager. The compliance department provides core internal services for our Joslin Rhodes and PlanHappy brands. The role is based in our Stockton office but You would have to be willing to do some travel to and from our Newcastle office as required by your Line Manager. Our Compliance department sits at the very heart of our business with loads of opportunities to get stuck into very exciting projects.Initially you will be responsible to the Compliance Manager for the day to day compliance administration across the organisation. You will have to be committed to completing the Diploma in Financial Planning and going through examination process which the company will support you with. This role is ideal for someone who is at an early stage in their financial planning career or possibly someone wanting to step into the compliance function within a regulated environment, as on-the-job training and development will be provided.The role would suit you if…

  • Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience of a busy environment
  • Computer literate with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Efficient, accurate, thorough, and well organised
  • Takes pride in their work
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external customers and contacts
  • Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
  • Willing to learn and determined to achieve Diploma in Financial Planning qualifications
  • You have a basic understanding of compliance processes would be desirable but this is not essential
  • You have some of the CII exams passed
  • Ideally you would have some experience working in a regulated environment
  • The Role and key accountabilities
  • Undertaking administrative tasks as prescribed by the compliance framework
  • Data collection for reporting internally and externally
  • Providing support to the Compliance Manager
  • Being involved in variety of compliance department related projects
  • Undertaking administrative support to the compliance function including scanning, filing and photocopying
  • Ensuring that all compliance registers are up to date
  • Undertake any training and professional development as and when required
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job title, as may be determined by the Line Manager
