An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Supervisor role with one of the UKs largest 3PLs. They have circa 20,000 employees, are in more than 160 locations and are responsible for over 7500 vehicles. As a Transport Supervisor you will work onsite at one of our customers sites thatwe are a supply chain partner to. About the roleYou will work very closely to the Transport Operations Manager in being the first point of contact for the customer. you will assist with enquiries and queries, take full responsibility for operational decisions required to deliver a seamless service tothe customer and end user.You will manage a fleet of drivers; managing routes, performance and infringements. You will monitor drivers routes to ensure deliveries are made to schedule and that the driver reports any delaysPromote excellent Health & Safety and environmental awareness and challenge poor performance.Provide the Delivery and Trunking network with a first class service, delivered within the legal constraints of the Operators licence and Road Traffic Act legislation.Assist the transport manager to ensure the operation is fully compliant with legislation and company tachograph rules.Conduct driver debriefs at the end of each shift to check for missed deliveries or other issues and take corrective action.Monitor performance, time keeping and sickness of your drivers.Resource drivers and vehicles against the transport plan to ensure fulfilmentAbout youYou will have experience within a Transport Supervisor role. You will have experience managing driversYou will have full knowledge of transport regulations including tacho regsYou will have a flexible approach to work as this role will cover occasionally need you to cover a variation of shifts.
