About the opportunity:An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our expanding company in various fields. The successful Health and Safety Officer will be primarily responsible in assisting and maintaining the Integrated ManagementSystem (IMS), ensuring full compliance with legislative and certification requirements ISO 45001,14001, 9001.Working cohesively with the management team, you will assist in completing key safety objectives and implement existing policies and procedures to achieve company goals. Your work will be largely focused on prevention, conducting risk assessments, Job MethodStatements, attending various internal, external sites, safety inspections and internal audits and efficiently putting corrective actions into place to avoid future risk.This is a new Health and Safety assistants role within business and an absolutely fantastic opportunity for an innovative and astute candidate to make a real impact within the Health & Safety Department.If you have previous experience in a Safety related role within a steel manufacturing, construction, demolition, and utilities environment, and have a passion for continuous improvement.Requirements:* Proven experience in a safety related role within a steel manufacturing, construction, and utilities environment* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety* NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety* Previous exposure to safety systems such as ISO 45001, 14001, 9001 would be beneficial* Capable of working on own initiative and managing own workload* The ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial* Proficient with MS office, Excel applications* A natural problem solverRole:* To assist Health & Safety Manager in the day-to-day operations within the business * Create various Job Method Statements and Risk Assessment for various projects* Create various construction phase plans on construction projects* Assist in the updating and reviewing of the companies accreditation (CHAS, Construction Line, Avetta, Ariba and NDTG)* Assisting in monitoring Hand, Arm Vibration (HAVs)* Assisting in monitoring Noise* Updating and reviewing the companies specific RAMS* Creating Relevant Toolbox Talks (TBT)* Knowledge of investigating Incidents and Accidents and completing all documentation* Carrying out monthly / 6-monthly site and system audits* Checking all company compliance registers* Monitoring the open action registers and ensuring close outs are completed* Monitoring LOLER inspections* Managing Contractors onsiteBenefits:* A competitive salary of circa £35,000 - £45,000 per annum dependent on skills, knowledge, and experience.
