Acorn is currently recruiting for a Compliance Engineer, for our clients Port Talbot site.The RoleProvide a professional service to co-ordinate, control, manage and deploy legislative compliance topics in conjunction with TSE Standards, Codes and Practices with the aid of SME (Subject Matter Experts) along with our clients Safety, Health & Environment Department.Play a vital role in protecting employees within the workplace whilst complying with company, British, European and International Standards. Such as,- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres regulations 2002 (DSEAR)- Control of Substances Hazardous To Health 2002 (COSHH)- Control of Major Accident Hazards 2015 (COMAH)The Compliance Engineer will work as part of Engineering Services, and must work closely with Site Management teams and site based Subject Matter Experts.Our client is committed to improving health and safety and this role is a key part of the strategy to ensure a safe working environment for all our employees, contractors and visitors.The Candidate- Should hold as a minimum of a NEBOSH Qualification (or equivalent) alongside an HNC qualification in a relevant discipline.- Exposure & knowledge of legislative Compliance topics along with a good understanding of safety and good general knowledge of safety.- Possess practical and technical knowledge of workplace safety, key risk control systems and management systems.- Visibly demonstrate & promote site values.- Able to identify ability in local individuals and promote motivation through active listening and engagement.- Ability to analyse complex text & problems ensuring the practical interpretation.- Lead and participate in problem solving teams.- Coordinate activities, meetings, information or other resources to meet objectives working closely with all departments as required.- Analyse, evaluate and interpret technical information in order to arrive at conclusions and make recommendations to management.- Take part in hazard identification along with any hazard and operability studies (HAZOP).- Able to identify, and manage risks associated with change, support MOC (Management of Change) procedures.- Good understanding of I.T.
