ChefAre you an experienced ChefAre you looking for a new opportunity that is both challenging and rewardingWe are currently recruiting for a talented Chef to join our team at our busy beach-front restaurant in Port Talbot.£1000 signing bonus for the chef who make the cut and join our awesome team!We are a cafe and restaurant that serve only the best quality when it comes to our food and our service. All of our meals are freshly prepared using fresh meats, fresh vegetables, fresh herbs and the talent of our kitchen staff.We have built up an excellent reputation over the last 15 years, and we are constantly doing all we can to make the cafe vibrant and exciting for our guests with new menu ideas, and exciting specials.We are a very busy restaurant and therefore, we are looking for a very hard-working Chef who can cope very well under pressure.This is a hands-on job role and the successful applicants must be willing to participate in all aspects of the smooth operating of our kitchen, including:

  • Food preparation to the highest standards
  • A full understanding of food and personal hygiene
  • The complete understanding of the HACCP system
  • The ability to work as part of a very busy and experienced team
  • A full understanding of FIFO and health and safety requirements
  • The ability to work under pressure
Applicants must be flexible, friendly, well-presented and enthusiastic. Excellent work ethic is a must. Previous experience is essential.The working hours are 35 to 45 hours per week. We are open all day, every day, Monday - Sunday, with varying shift patterns for all kitchen staff. Good rates of pay - but itll have to be earned! Further training and career opportunities.Chef Essential Requirements:
  • Knife skills
  • Food preparation skills
  • Food knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to create new dishes / menus
  • Familiarity with HACCP systems and excellent hygiene standards
Chef Desirable Requirements:
  • Food Hygiene certificate
  • COSHH certification
  • First aid certificate
  • Experience in busy kitchens
  • Ability to work under pressure
About Our Company:We are a family run coffee shop, ice-cream parlour, and restaurant that has been the heart and soul of Aberavon Beachfront for over 15 years.Our homemade gelato, expertly made coffee, and freshly prepared delicious meals have earnt us a reputation that ensures we are busy all year round and makes us the destination to visit when in Port Talbot.Salary: £10.75 - £14.75 per hour (dependant on ability and experience)
