Job Description

A school located in the Pontypridd area are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1-1 support to a KS2 student with additional learning needs.About the role:Position: 1-1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA).Hours: Mon - Fri (8:30am - 3:30pm)Location: PontypriddPay: £416.65 per week minimum (increases dependent on experience).Key Responsibilities as a 1-1 Learning Support Assistant:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to a specific student with additional learning needs.
  • Work with the class teacher to implement strategies within the classroom to ensure inclusivity and engagement.
  • Monitoring the students progress and behaviour and feedback observations to the class teacher.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians, providing updates on the students progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Be proactive in supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom provisions, such as the organisation of learning materials.
  • Adhering to school policies and procedures, including confidentiality guidelines and safeguarding protocols.
  • Assisting the student with classroom tasks and activities to promote their participation and engagement.
Requirements to be considered:
  • Previous experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs.
  • A relevant qualification (CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, 1-1 support, or Learning Support Assistant.
  • Able to commute to Pontypridd, RCT.
