Job descriptionWe currently have the opportunity for a CNC machinist to join our client based in Cardiff on a permanent contract. This role will see you producing components to tight tolerances and working within a team of highly skilled operatives. If you have experiencewithin manufacturing environments and the skills for the role, then please apply!Our client is relocating their site in June/July to Ebbw Vale, so the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to both Cardiff and Ebbw Vale.Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-12:30pmSalary: £30,000+Role Purpose:As a CNC Machinist you will report directly to the Engineering Manager, responsible for the programming and operation of CNC milling machines to manufacture precision engineered parts.You will be expected to undertake other activities which contribute to the companys growth provided you are competent, and they are safe to do. This may also include activities outside of your designated area.Key responsibilities: Time served apprenticeship in CNC Machining & programming. CNC Turning experience and the use of manual toolroom machinery would be an advantage. Must have proven experience of programming parts on the control panel and from models using CAD/CAM software, use of SolidCAM software would be an advantage. Must be able to work from drawings/models to produce parts to accurate tolerances. To work within our ISO 9001:2015 Quality management system ensuring documented procedures are correctly followed. Duties will include the use of all types of measurement equipment. Raise issues to management regarding work plan conflicts. To Train others when required. To ensure cleanliness of equipment/machines are maintained to the required standard. To ensure all activities follow our standing operating procedures (SOPs). To highlight any non-conforming product, shortage or forthcoming issues as soon as possible.The job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive and you may be required to undertake various duties as may reasonably be required of you by the Company.Qualifications or Functional Experience Time served apprenticeship in CNC machining predominantly with CNC milling experience. CNC turning experience.System or Knowledge Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Use of CAD/CAM software.Personal Attributes Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to effectively communicate with Design and Workshop Engineering Managers. Strong work ethic, eye for detail with a quality focus.OtherRequirements Experience of working in a food /pharma environment advantageous. The attitude and will to want to make a difference. Problem solver with a methodical approach and an eye for detail. Flexible approach.*To ensure the factory/department is maintained and kept in a clean and tidy state.
