Job Description

Purpose:Our client is looking to recruit a Finance Analyst to assist the Director of Finance using BRIXX modelling scenarios and carrying out stress testing for long term financial planning. Cost effective, responsive, customer focused, timely and quality financialservice throughout the Company.   • To advise the Finance Manager on all financial matters and ensure adequate supervision of the Finance Officers/Assistants regarding their duties and responsibilities.
  • To assist the Finance Manager in ensuring that the finance service complies with relevant legislation, financial regulation, good practice, and regulatory requirements and to advise the Finance Manager of any changes required.
  • To assist the Finance Manager in the production of all budget reports, quarterly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
  • To assist with producing the Groups business plan using the BRIXX model, including modelling relevant scenarios and their impact on the plan.
  • To be responsible for maintaining the general ledger system and the required reconciliations together with any inventory records and systems as directed.
  • To assist with maintaining the group accounting structure and inter-company controls.
  • To provide financial support to the various mini businesses managed by the Association and produce management information including budgeting, forecasts and cashflows as required to help assess on-going viability.
  • To provide financial information to other internal departments as required and ensure that the appropriate grant claims, external returns and cashflows are submitted within the necessary timescales.
  • To maintain the VAT and Corporation Tax controls and prepare VAT, CIS, and Corporation Tax returns in accordance with the requirements of HMRC and legislation as directed.
  • To be responsible for the prompt processing of insurance claims, and liaison with the insurance company.
  • Assist with the Groups insurance renewal information and liaise with insurers accordingly.
  • To assist the Finance Manager in the review and calculation of service charges.
  • To ensure compliance with performance and service standards and to provide the Finance Manager with all relevant performance data on a timely basis.
  • To assist the Finance Manager in ensuring that the Finance service is delivered in accordance with Association policies and procedures and to assist in their regular review.
  • To liaise and maintain good working relationships and communication channels with all internal departments and produce relevant management information as required.
  • To liaise and maintain good working relationships with all relevant external agencies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer care, safety, privacy, and equality by complying with all relevant policy and procedures, those relating to:
o Health & Safety Legislation - to ensure that safe working practices and procedures are adopted at all times.o GDPR legislation - to act in compliance with GDPR and data protection laws, ensuring adherence to GDPR standards. respecting confidentiality and privacy and protecting data subjects rights.o Equality & Diversity - supporting the principles and practice of equality of opportunity as set out in the Associations Equality & Diversity Policy.o To undertake any other relevant duties as determined by the Line Manager, Association or Chief Executive.Essential Requirements:
  • Education, Training & Experience Relevant Finance Related Qualification, or a desire to work towards one
  • Experience of working in a finance and housing environment
  • Experience of using the BRIXX business planning tool
  • Experience of managing staff and working as part of a team
  • Extensive knowledge of general ledger, budgeting and cashflow processes
  • Extensive knowledge of business planning including scenario testing
  • Knowledge of monthly and year end accounts production
  • Knowledge of Corporation Tax, CIS, and VAT processes
  • Ability to contribute to policies and procedures
