Job Description

Design Engineer£30,000 - £38,900Pontypool With a history dating back to 1836, this company is dedicated to ongoing investment in their sites and product development, their offering an opportunity for a Design Engineer to join the business. In this role, you will be responsible for designing anddeveloping top-of-the-line products for some of the biggest names in the Aerospace, Industrial Gas Turbine, Military, and Petrochemical markets. There is a variety of work which will challenge your creativity, its an exciting opportunity to make your markin the industry and take your career to the next level.This is what youll be doing:

  • Designing and developing forged products through the forging process.
  • Utilising CAD and simulation software to predict and improve the design process.
  • Collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Technical, and Quality teams to monitor and test the production trial.
  • Setting up the tooling and testing the production trial to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Organising and documenting the trial run, including video, photos, and data measurement.
The experience youll bring to the team:
  • Mechanical background, including a degree, HND, BTEC, or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in CAD, with a desire to learn and use new software.
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.
  • Desire to learn and continuously improve in the role.
  • Experience in a CNC machining environment but not essential.
