Job Description

Job Title: Shift Team LeaderLocation: PontypoolSalary: £12.00-£14.50 per hour working afternoons 13.00-23.00Hours: 40hrs per week.This role is working for a well established client in Pontypool. This is a Temporary to Permanent positionPerson Specification

  • Able to work on own initiative and to lead and motivate the team.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Have a mature and responsible attitude to the job and set an example to others.
  • Excellent and reliable attendance record.
  • Qualified in First Aid
  • Fork Lift Truck licence
  • Sets examples for production personnel in areas of personal character, commitment, organisational, health &
  • safety and work habits.
  • Conducts regular team meetings and encourages all staff to communicate effectively, building motivation and
  • productivity.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees and work with others to improve
  • production efficiencies and the overall effectiveness of the company.
  • Shows initiative towards problem solving.
  • Experience of operating and maintaining production machinery.
The main areas of responsibility will be:
  • Lead the Team to achieve daily targets set by the Production Manager
  • Hold Daily Tool Box Talk meetings with the team at the beginning of each shift
  • Ensure safe working practices are followed
  • Quality products are produced and no fault is passed forward
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Engage the team with continuous improvement and Lean Methodology
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work sheets and provide instruction and guidance to the
  • team
  • Responsible for managing sufficient stocks of raw materials, consumables and essential spare parts.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated
  • and implemented within the team.
  • Contribute towards the smooth running and continuous improvement of the department and company as a
  • whole.
  • Fully responsible for operating, changing the set-up and maintenance of an automated brick cutting machine
