Support Worker Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taf, WalesThe Company Maximising potential for over 20 years, Westcountry Case Management provides a specialist case management service that helps individuals recruit their own support workers. We have just been rated as Outstanding in our recent CQC inspection.Our ambition is to inspire clients, their relatives and professionals alike by consistently attaining excellent outcomes, supporting people with compassion and kindness.We are currently looking for a Support Worker to join our team in Pontyclun to assist a 10-year-old boy with complex needs. This role operates on a part-time basis working an average of 16 hours per week.The Benefits - An hourly rate of £12.00 per hour on weekdays and £12.50 per hour on Saturdays- Work directly for the end service user and not an agency- Statutory benefits and holiday- Bonus schemeThe Role As a Support Worker, you will provide support and care to the client, a delightful 10-year-old boy with complex needs at his home in Pontyclun.You will spend quality time with the client, who enjoys Spider-Man video games and one on one attention, engaging him in lots of different activities, as well as implementing therapies as prescribed by the MDT.Supporting the client to attend and participate in activities within the wider community such as swimming and skiing lessons, you will ensure his safety and physical wellbeing at all times.About YouTo be considered as a Support Worker, you will need:- Previous experience in a similar role- A good understanding of the personal and physical needs of a client with physical andcognitive difficulties- To be registered with OR be working towards registration with Social Care Wales- To hold a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 2 or above or a Diploma) ORhave completed the All Wales Induction Framework, or be willing to complete thiswithin 6 months of your start date if successful- A full, valid driving licenceCompetent IT skills would be beneficial to your application, as would experience of sensory stimulation. Knowledge of cerebral palsy and/or sight impairments would also be desirable, as would experience of learning, cognitive or behavioural support.An example shift pattern would be 15:00 to 19:00 three evenings per week and four hours on Saturday 10:00 to 14:00 with some flexibility to fit in with other commitments you may already have.This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.
