Job Description

Purchasing ManagerLlantrisant22526/900£40,000 - £45,000 + excellent benefits + Bonus.An innovative company renowned for its design excellence and being a market leading player within their industry are looking for a Purchasing Manager to oversee and grow their thriving Purchasing team. This Company is growing year on year with their innovativeproducts which is why theyre looking for likeminded individuals who want to progress themselves within the Purchasing team and grow with the company. The business have won some lucrative contracts recently and off the back of that they will be looking toexpand massively especially within the purchasing team, it would be a great time to join the company and be a pivotal part of leading the expansion and growing the team further.Role & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for all external bodies on purchasing matters.
  • Responsible for the development and improvement of purchasing procedures and materials practices.
  • Day to day management of the ERP system to ensure timely delivery of components to support production.
  • Purchase of defined materials from approved suppliers at the best commercial terms.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy and stock checking as well as ensuring spare part stocking levels at various locations are appropriate.
  • Track and report key performance indicators to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Maintain good relationships with all suppliers while developing partnerships with key suppliers. Work with suppliers to reduce overall lead time of procurement.
  • Regularly review supplier base and make recommendations to introduce new suppliers in line with Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service metrics where appropriate.
  • Supervise and undertake the management of the Purchasing Department, including staff development and training.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • This is a key middle management position working with a variety of internal and external suppliers and stakeholders to manage lead times and ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of materials.
  • Ideally you will have 5+ years experience in a similar position with strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
  • CIPS and ERP experience are desirable.
  • Experience working for an Engineering company as a Purchasing Manager or similar.
