PMP Recruitment are looking to bring onboard a Junior Buyer for an initial 6 month period to start as soon as possible for a large industrial company in Llantrisant.Successful applicants will work for PMP Recruitment during this time.Applicants must be available straight away and able to clear a criminal record check.The right candidate will support all areas of Procurement and Supply Chain. Working with category managers and buyers to review needs with internal customers and lead on procurement/sourcing processes through marketplace competitions where appropriate.Key Responsibilities:* Responsible for progressing the MRP requirement within the relevant categories, ensuring all purchasing needs are completed on time in full.* Responsible for the requisition process - reviewing for compliance, checking and challenging prior to release. Develop reporting as required to drive compliance and escalate non-compliance to Category Manager and Finance as required.* To track orders and confirm system lead times, delivery dates, costs and terms in line with company guidelines.* Prepares and communicates shortage and backlog reports, and provides visibility of potential interruptions to internal customers.* Ensures orders adhere to supplier agreements and contracts; reports non-conformances.* To lead Finance and Logistics staff in resolving receipt and invoice discrepancies.* Identifies opportunities and implements actions to achieve efficiencys.* Contributes to consolidation, reduction, and rationalisation of the supplier base.* With support, initiate low value procurement tenders and projects delivering values defined in the category strategy* Responsible for operating within guidelines set by the category manager and in line with company rules of business and procedures.* Supports stakeholders to impart knowledge of company processes.* Inputs and maintains purchasing documents, files and records (e.g. vendor files, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.* Performs general and specific clerical functions for the purpose of supporting departmental activities.* Creates reports as necessary.* Undertakes any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be required.Key Behaviours:
