PMP Recruitment are looking for a chemical engineer to work for an extremely prestigious and well known company based in llantrisant.This is a temporary ongoing contract.Candidates must be able to clear DBS checks.The Role:To provide Process technical support and technical development for the direct brass plating process. Support the scale up from laboratory to trials plating line to full scale production.Key Responsibilities: Developing direct brass plating chemistry with the R&D Manager Running of the trials lineproduction samples, process development and scale up Creating Standard operating procedures Training and competency assessment of operators Checking levels of primary / secondary containment systems. Checking integrity of primary containment systems (i.e. tank leaks) Ensuring timely management of hazardous waste removal Ensuring that electrical and mechanical isolation are in place and intact Monitor and act upon process alarms Monitor Safety Critical Alarm influencers and act upon SCA activation Develop and manage the Operator asset care regime Carry out daily hazard walks / spotting and progress actions arising Manage and participate in regular 5S audits and action progression Carry out daily process checks (via A0) Facilitate and participate in A3 problem solving Check and manage the correct use and storage of fire prevention equipment Ensure that process chemistry is identified correctly and stored in the appropriate place Audit Operations shift checks Support plant decontamination and decommissioningKey Behaviours: Can do / positive attitude Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills (thinks differently) Effective in a team or singleton environment Continuous Improvement focused Proactive approach to problems (solutions oriented) Customer focused Good communicatorKnowledge, Skills & Experience: Good administrative skills Good interpersonal skills Ideally worked in a chemical / process environment Understanding of electrolytic processes FLT trained is preferable Good observation Experience managing industrial staff is preferential Micro-soft Office basic user skills Good risk awareness of hazardous chemicals Understanding of Continuous Improvement techniquesQualifications Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering is essential IOSH / NEBOSH (nice to have)PMP Recruitment Ltd is acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
