Job Description

Opportunity for a chemist / graduate chemist to join an established company that is experiencing a sustained period of increased demand. You will earn a salary of up to £30,000 (dependent on experience) plus benefits and the company has been tradingfor over 20 years and offers a wide range of options to the multiple marketplaces it serves.The role will see you work as part of an R&D team dealing with various products and benefiting from a varied workload. There will also be potential opportunities to undertake training such as IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications.As the chemist, your duties will include:

  • Research and development of products
  • Assisting with paperwork creation, labels, dangerous goods notes, etc.
  • Quality control
  • Creating customer labels
  • Undertaking project development work
  • Working within established production operating procedures and observing health and safety standards.
  • Ensuring product quality is maintained.
  • Reporting all findings clearly and precisely.
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers.
To apply for the chemist / graduate chemist position, you will need:
  • A degree-level qualification in a scientific subject such as chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, forensic science, analytical and forensic science, etc. is highly desirable
  • Some industry experience in a laboratory setting is desirable
  • Good basic wet chemistry skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
