Buyer£35,000 - £38,000BlackwoodYolk Recruitment are managing an exceptional opportunity for a Buyer to join a dynamic team with a renowned manufacturing business that leads the way in a critical field. If youre ready to take on a role where your expertise in procurement can thrive, we want to hear from you!This is what youll be doing:The successful Buyer will be an integral part of the Procurement team, responsible for sourcing and managing professional supplier relationships. Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Applying purchasing best practices to ensure cost-effective inflow of materials and services.
  • Driving Procurement excellence and adhering to operating principles and policies.
  • Managing personal, departmental, and business metrics and KPIs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop business and department agendas.
  • Negotiating and managing Supply Agreements/Service Level agreements/contracts.
  • Initiating and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Identifying alternative suppliers, conducting due diligence, and supporting vendor benchmarking.
  • Balancing business-as-usual tasks with strategic procurement projects.
  • Championing lean/continuous improvement approaches for sustainable outcomes.
The experience youll bring to the team:
  • Strong computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and familiarity with IT systems.
  • Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proven track record in a similar role within a technical/manufacturing environment.
  • Commercial awareness and experience in sourcing and procurement.
  • Understanding of MRP/ERP systems and familiarity with product design and manufacturing processes.
