Job Description

About The businessA Machine Tool Services business who are an established leader in the installation, commissioning, and repair of CNC and Manual machine tools across various manufacturing sectors, with a strong presence in the industry.Key Responsibilities:As a Mechanical Machine Tool Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting Planned Maintenance activities on CNC/Manual machine tools (PPM)
  • Handling Reactive Maintenance activities on CNC/Manual machine tools (RM)
  • Diagnosing faults and performing repairs of machines at customer premises
  • Assisting in the installation and commissioning of machinery
  • Managing parts ordering for repairs
  • Discussing and reporting machine faults with the manager when necessary
  • Responding to customer queries regarding machines
Qualifications and Skills:To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Prior experience in Field Service and/or Machine Tool service
  • Mechanical bias with an ideally held NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and CNC controls
  • Proficient in fault finding and mechanical/electrical repair
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout the week and stay overnight if required
  • Occasional weekend work may be necessary
  • Full UK driving license (preferably clean)
  • Proficiency in personal computer skills, including email, record keeping word processing, and spreadsheets
Working Hours:Core working hours are 07.30 - 16.00, Monday to Thursday, and 07.30 - 12.00 on Fridays. However, hours may vary to accommodate customer needs. Overnight stays will be expected from time to time, a Premier Inn card is provided to cover hotel stays.Additional Information:
