Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Finance team and support them, offering guidance to the Finance Assistant and work with the Finance Manager on tasks
  • Assist Finance Team with financial administration such as sale and bank reconciliation checks, authorise draft order forms, and process orders and invoices
  • Check payroll hourly time sheets and staff expense claims are authorised and coded correctly
  • Attend events such as progression, enrolment, induction days and any other ad hoc arrangements to support the Finance team
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and month end duties such as post depreciation, remove temporary budgets, prepare the VAT return, provide budget reports and process accruals and prepayments
  • Checking and reconciling own monthly payments
  • Undertake other duties as requested by the Finance Management
You need to be able to demonstrate
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse numerical and written information and present results
  • AAT qualification (desirable)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of integrated financial accounting systems
  • Proficient organisation skills and time management
  • Ability to make realistic judgements, based on professional expertise and variable information
  • Understanding of financial controls and financial environment
  • Experience of monitoring income and expenditure against budgets
