Job Description

JOB- Workshop TechnicianLOCATION- PlymouthTERM- PermanentSALARY- £18,000-£25,000 plus other benefits My client is looking for a Workshop Technician to join their business on a permanent basis in the Plymouth area. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hands on and has a practical approach to Engineering in a Workshop EnvironmentThe Workshop Technician will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Workshop experience working with VMC, Mills & Lathes
  • Familiar with process such as Injection moulding, Vac forming and sheet metal fabrication
  • Be able to read & interpret engineering drawings
  • Under go 10 year security screening including CRB and financial probity check
  • Ability to work individually or as a team
  • Presentable and professional in appearance
  • The Workshop Technician role will involve:
  • Accurately and efficiently manufacture using general toolroom equipment to prototype components and assemblies
  • Manufacture equipment, fixtures and jigs to enable repeatable testing
  • Safely & accurately carry out testing for R&D prototypes and products in accordance to test requirements
  • Ensure the workshop machinery and tools used by non-workshop staff are used in safe and correct manner
  • Ensure workshop machinery and tools are used in a safe and correct manner
  • Communicate with suppliers and external bodies in a professional manner
  • Undertake training where necessary, involving COSHH, PUWER and Abrasive wheels regulations
