Summary Saltram has an exciting Volunteering & Community Officer opportunity, looking for an enthusiastic and positive person to join our team. With over 950,000 visitsln 2019, Saltram is one of the busiest properties in the country. A well-loved parkland used by locals for walking and exercising, a popular garden which changes with the seasons and a Treasure House makes Saltram a popular property for a range of audiences.Currently, The Future Saltram Project aims to deliver significant and exciting changes across every area of the property to maximise its commercial potential and deepen audience engagement, this is a priority multi million pound project for the National Trust,Saltram prides itself on its exceptional visitor experience and service standards. An energised, capable, engaged team make Saltram a fun place to work. Its certainly an exciting time to be at Saltram. What youll be doing You will be supervising the house volunteersas well as helping to deliver this portfolios strategic plan for volunteering and communities. Helping to embed change whilst widening and deepening our relationships with existing and new audiences.You will also increase the confidence and capability of others whilst creating a collective, flexible and inclusive environment for existing & future volunteers, communities and partners. Who were looking for

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of volunteering and be enthusiastic about promoting the benefits of great volunteer involvement and opportunities
  • Be passionate and enthusiastic about working with volunteers and understand the differences between staff and volunteers, particularly the legal frameworks
  • Have excellent customer services and communication skills
  • Have a flexible approach and be a great team player, be able to lead on and work with other peoples agendas towards a common purpose
  • Be well organised and attentive to detail
  • A sound working knowledge of volunteering principles and practice
  • IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Knowledge and experience of budget management
