Job Description

We are looking for Registered RGN Staff Nurses to join our teams on a permanent basis at both Torr Home and the Glentor Centre.About Torr Home:This year the charity is celebrating 160 years since its foundation and its 91st birthday on the grounds at Torr Home. Torr Home delivers high standards of care for up to 42 residents including those with nursing, respite and soon to be dementia needs in our newly equipt wing. The Glentor Centre is a purpose built, dementia specialist home that prides itself on providing high quality nursing and residential care for the 16 residents that live there. Both homes sit within 3 acres of private, beautifully maintained gardens at one of the highest points in Plymouth.Main duties and responsibilities:Our nurses are required to ensure the following:

  • To provide a caring and supportive service to all types of resident.
  • To positively support the Matron and Deputy Matron in providing leadership to the care staff within Torr Home.
  • To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice.
  • To manage the service in accordance with standards agreed with the Registered Manager, Registered Provider, legislative requirements, relevant regulations, in line with accepted best practice and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time with the Registered Provider.
  • To follow processes and procedures already in place that contribute to the continued smooth running of the unit.
  • Communicate well with the team under your supervision, residents and visitors to the home and other professionals.
    • Experience is preferred due to the nature of the homes but we are looking for the right fit so are keen to speak with Nurses at all levels. Finding someone who can think on their feet and work hard to provide the excellent standard of care our residents deserve is our priority.The shifts available are to cover both day and nights and work on a rota.
