Job Description

Retain Energy Limited are a Plymouth based business and are looking for a Solar PV Design / Administrator. The right candidate must be driven, proactive and fit into the professional culture we are creating. We have expansion plans for the business so weare also offering great opportunities to develop into new roles within the company and support in growing the team with us.Experience in Solar PV Design / Electrical systems and storage is essential. Ideally you will have a broad set of skills, as outlined below, but also have an appreciation of the commercial aspects of delivering energy generation projects on commercial /industrial sites.

  • Technical Skills
  • Awareness and understanding of solar PV products, e.g., currently available PV module types, inverters, mounting systems, etc.
  • Product selection of PV system components and ancillary equipment for projects.
  • Basic understanding of the requirements of UK grid connection, i.e., G98 and G99.
  • Ability to create layouts and outline designs of complete PV systems, at commercial/ industrial scale including Energy Yield Assessment and connection interfaces.
  • To further develop outline designs into construction-ready details designs, including all drawings, list of materials and design risk assessments and method statements.
  • At least a basic proficiency in solar design packages will be a strong advantage.
  • Awareness of and familiarity with relevant UK solar PV design standards and codes of practice is expected such as MCS
  • A good understanding of general construction business administration, timesheets, invoices, on hire - off hire reports. To assist in the day to day running of the business will be a huge advantage.
  • Soft Skills
  • A collaborative approach is essential - must be a good team worker and be prepared to share knowledge.
  • Must be a good verbal communicator
  • Must be able to write clear and concise technical sections in tender response documents.
  • Willing to be flexible in the role, eg, assist the sales, commercial, procurement or construction teams where required.
  • Well organised and able to prioritise work in line with deadlines.
  • Experience with dealing with site contractors and skilled labour not essential but preferred.
  • Must have a flexible approach and willing to learn and expand as the role progresses.
Salary - depending on experience- competitive and in line with industry standards and relevant experience. A CV will be required to be considered for this vacancy.
