Job Description

As a Senior Security and Resilience Lead, you will drive the appropriate organisational posture to deliver an effective risk-based approach to manage security and business continuity risks across DE&S/SDA, Industry and the wider Defence enterprise. You willtake responsibility for driving the organisation to apply and implement security and business continuity management processes.You will head up a team of 3 direct reports, whilst working in a wider team carrying out security related work.The role will involve plenty of travel throughout the UK and occasionally abroad. The role also offers the opportunity to work remotely, however candidates must be prepared to travel to their selected site on a regular basis.The successful candidate must be willing to undertake DV clearance once in post.Please note, if not successful for this campaign you may be offered a post at a lower grade.If successful for the role, you can choose to be based at any of the following locations:MOD Abbey Wood, Filton, Bristol BS34 8JHDE&S Piccadilly House, Manchester, Greater Manchester M1 2APRAF Waddington, Lincoln, Lincolnshire LN5 9NB HMNBDevonport, Plymouth, Devon PL2 2BGMOD Kentigern House, Glasgow G2 8EXAbout the role:In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Align with relevant regulation, policy and standards to provide proportional, practical advice, tailored to the strategic environment, and advise relevant stakeholders on any residual risk.
  • Develop DE&S/MOD policy for internal and external security and business continuity, ensuring alignment with Government and industry objectives and standards.
  • Make evidence-based decisions on behalf of senior risk owners to enable the management of security and resilience risk.
  • Effectively engage with senior risk owners to escalate issues and/or risks to enable them to make informed decisions on risk.
  • Lead the organisation to continually develop and deliver balanced and cost-effective security risk and business continuity management methodologies with complex scope or significant risk.
  • Delivering strategic security services on behalf of the Defence enterprise, such as industry security advice and assurance.
  • Supporting the management of strategic relationships at the Corporate level with service providers, MOD and OGDs policy owners.
  • Representing MOD & DE&S security interests to customers, suppliers and international partners.
Person specificationTo be successful with your application, youll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
  • Level 7 Security Management Qualification (or equivalent qualification) OR equivalent professional experience
  • Significant experience within a Security related role
