We help customers in the UK and around the world to improve the capability, reliability and availability of theirmost critical assets within the four market sectors of Marine, Land, Aviation, and Nuclear, underpinned by a deep understanding of technology integration, unique infrastructure and specialist training.The roleThe difference our new Senior Engineer (Human Factors) will makeAs a Senior Engineer (Human Factors), youll have a role thats out of the ordinary. This is an opportunity to experience a broad diversity of work within human factors, enhancing your skills and knowledge to progress within Babcock.Day to day, youll lead a small team to Support Engineers and other scientific disciplines operating in the high hazard nuclear regulated industry. This will include supporting the design development of both new and existing site systems, processes and facilities.Youll provide human factors input into the nuclear safety assessment process and support the successful implementation (including validation) of the human performance elements of the safety case within the operational business setting.At Babcock, we have a history of helping talent go far. This role provides hybrid working arrangements with the opportunity for either home based or office-basedworking.Essential experience* First degree in Psychology plus MSc in Occupational Psychology, Applied Psychology or, Industrial Psychologyor* Ergonomics based discipline or an engineering degree with high psychological / ergonomics content (or equivalent).* Working towards Registered Member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors or as a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society with experience of working in the human factors field within high hazard industries.* You will need to satisfy security requirements.
