The roleThe difference our new Senior Buyer will make As a Senior Buyer, youll have a role thats out of the ordinary. This role lies within the Operational Materials Procurement and Services Procurement element of the central services support team. You will be supporting the sourcing, contract managementand supplier management of indirect services for all internal customers across the business to enable the delivery of critical support packages to our customer the Royal Navy.Day to day, you will provide procurement / commercial input into and sign off statements of requirement prior to release to suppliers, review and recommendation of preferred bidders and co-ordinate order placement as well as ongoing contract management onlarger packages , consistent with the specified technical, quality assurance and delivery requirements which are critical to the success of this business.At Babcock, we have a history of helping talent go far. This role provides a hybrid working arrangement.Essential experience

• Obtained or undertaking CIPS Level 4 accreditation (desirable)
• Lean Six Sigma certification or understanding of the principles (desirable)
• Understanding of engineering environments
• Experience in use of MPS and MRP systems, preferred IFS / SAP
• Ability to present to groups up to director level
• Excel in working with stakeholders to assess their needs and devise proactive plans to form a solution
