Job descriptionJob Title: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation:PlymouthSalary Scale: £72.00£80.00 per dayStart Date:October2022GSL Education is seeking aSEN Teaching Assistant for a Special Educational NeedsSchool located in Plymouth. The school seeks someone to support its students with ASC, MLD, SLCN and Mental Health. The selection of applicants will be basedon a trial day within the school.The School:To make sure that children make the most amount of progress, the school has an extremely effective induction and support program that guides their staff to excellence. The school is calm and friendly, and staff help pupils to understand the importance of beingkind to each other. Pupils enjoy coming to school and feel safe there.As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will possess the following:

  • SEN Qualification
  • At least one year of SEN support experience in a school setting
  • Experience supporting SEN students and delivering activities on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Experience in assessing, evaluating, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Comfortable to support children and young people on a 1: 1 and small groups
  • Drivers License
Applicants are required to have the following:
  • Energetic and patient with strong classroom management skills
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application through GSL Education
  • Be able to provide two professional school-based references.
