Job descriptionPosition: SEN Teaching Assistant(Driver)Pay: £75- £80 per dayLocation: PlymouthAre you patient and caringAre you confident working with children with Special Educational Needs to develop their abilitiesDo you have the experience of supporting children in a classroom settingGSL Education is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a client school based in Plymouth.This is the perfect job for anyone looking to gain experience before applying for teacher training.About SEN TA role:

  • To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils to support them in feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at school.
  • Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class
  • To provide learning support for pupils in the class or in 1:1 situations
  • Provide individualised behaviour interventions within your role as well as ensure the childs safety at all times.
The successful candidate will:
  • Possess a Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Be working alongside teachers and supporting students.
  • Be working with students with autism, Asperger and challenging behaviour.
  • Have previous experience with SEND in a school environment.
  • Be a confident, outgoing and personable individual with a passion for helping people.
  • Have a nurturing and compassionate approach to supporting teaching and learning.
  • Know how to support the inclusion and progress of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
To work with GSL Education as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you should:
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have at least 6 months of experience in an educational setting or the health care sector.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
