Job Description

Section Engineer We are looking for a Section Engineer to join our team based at Devonport Dockyard, PlymouthLocation: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth Business Area: Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks – Major Projects Contract: Full Time, Permanent What will your responsibilities beAs a Section Engineer, you will be working within the Kier major projects team, supporting the refurbishment of Devonport Dockyards Royal Navy submarine maintenance programme.Your day to day will include:

  • Preparing ‘as-built drawings for distribution on site.
  • Establishing and managing effective systems to record the progress of work and update the Project Quality Plan
  • Assisting in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials used
  • Accountable for setting-out works constructed within allowable tolerances.Regularly checking the setting-out points and benchmarks, checking that all setting-out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate
  • Making sure the workforce follow setting-out information
