Amazing scenery, vibrant towns and numerous leisure opportunities - Its why Devon and Cornwall are such a desirable place to live and work.Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines.The roleThe difference our new Quality Manager will makeAs a Quality Manager, youll have a role where youll initially focus on running very a high-profile project which will deliver significant efficiency savings for the business.Day to day, youll manage, govern and improve Devonport Dockyards Business Management System (BMS). Youll be responsible for identifying benefits that can be realised from simplified ways of working and developing, leading and communicating the strategyfor achieving a best-in-class Business Management System. Your duties will also include carrying out the recruitment, retention and development of the BMS Governance and Improvement team and delegating the responsibility for ensuring the BMS function worksto its allocated budget.At Babcock, we have a history of helping talent go far. This role provides hybrid working arrangements with 2/3 days in the office/onsite.Essential experience

  • Demonstrable experience as a senior manager, responsible for the design and delivery or delivery and continued improvement of an internationally accredited and certified Business Management System.
  • Experience of managing a quality assurance function and team within a customer facing or regulatory context
  • Proven track record of being able to deliver improvement projects, to time and to budget, across complex and diverse organisations.
  • Good communication skills, with an ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in change management and ability to facilitate workshops at all levels, creating a common goal and achieving agreed outcomes.
  • Bachelors degree level or recognised professional qualification in quality management.
  • Working towards or already a member of relevant Chartered Institute essential
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
