Job Description

Location: Devonport, Plymouth, GB, PL1 4SGOnsite or Hybrid: HybridJob Title: Project Procurement SpecialistLocation: Remote with monthly visit to Devonport, PlymouthCompensation: £39,408-£48,252Role Type: Full time / Permanent Role ID: SF 49904At Babcock were working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Project Procurement Specialist at our Devonport site.The roleAs a Project Procurement Specialist, youll have a role thats out of the ordinary. Responsible for supporting Devonports Royal Dockyard as part of the procurement team as it embarks on its transformation programme.Day to day, youll support indirect procurement activities across professional services, major & minor construction works and maintenance within the Dockyard and your key responsibilities will include:* Establishing project requirements and matching to the most suitable procurement route. * Supporting the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance.* Assuring supplier performance to time, cost and quality for contract requirements against scope of supplier responsibility.* Work with other teams within the business to ensure procurement and commercial engagement is at the fore. * Co-ordinate the process for tendering of work by Contractors & Consultants, ensure tender documents are prepared and dispatched to organisations invited to tender and subsequent submissions are managed professionally up to and beyond including commitmentfor order placement.Essential experience of the Project Procurement Specialist* Experienced procurement practitioner with knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and relevant experience in sourcing and procurement.* Experience of working in complex project environments.* Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance.* Understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to manage subcontract terms including flow-down terms from customer contracts.* Understanding of planning and implementing supply arrangements, managing supplier performance and scheduling of deliveries.* Understanding of cost models, for example in relation to the NEC models, familiarity with accounting practices, commercial audits, forecasting and valuations and supplier costing models.Youll be based remotely but you must be flexible to travel to Devonport as required (once a month).
