Job Title: Principal Quality Assurance EngineerSF32744Location: Devonport, PlymouthBusiness Unit: Strategic InfrastructureSalary: £43,445.00About the roleHere at Babcock International were looking to recruit a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer.The Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Quality Departments main function is to provide assurance that the Business Units activities deliver infrastructure fit for purpose.This role is supporting the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit in its delivery of new or upgraded facilities as required to support the planned maintenance activities on submarines and warships.• Quality lead for multiple projects within the Submarine Refitting Complex (SRC), which are the responsibility of the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit.• Responsible for assuring Quality Management Plans, Inspection & Test Plans and Life Time Quality Records are fit for purpose.• Lead the quality team in support of projects in their execution of work packages to assure the quality deliverables are achieved.• Represent Quality at project meetings.• Manage team of Senior and Quality Assurance Engineers assuring the support delivers excellent customer service.What do I need to do the roleYoull need experience in auditing, HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline or NVQ Level 4 or recognised professional status or significant experience in relevant engineering discipline with NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline, a recognised professional qualification in quality management and be a Certified Lead Auditor.Would also like you to have experience in all or some of the following:• ISO 9001:2015• Knowledge on continuous improvement techniques• Experience of managing Quality Assurance and Quality Control within the Engineering sector, including supply chain functions, ideally in the construction sector.• Knowledge of change management and improvement programmes.• An understanding of nuclear site licence obligations and management arrangements.• Construction background.What else do I need to know• The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.• Please follow the link to find out more about how COVID-19 is impacting Recruitment and On-boarding for applicants: • We are happy to talk about flexible working.
