Platform ILS LeadLocation: Bristol£49,640 - £55,000 dependent on experience and location32887Overall Department DirectionEnergy & Marine (E&M) is a business unit within the Marine Division of Babcock International Group. E&M Engineering is a leading design consultancy providing naval architecture, marine, system engineering, electrical engineering design and project support services to the marine and defence markets worldwide. We have vast experience in engineering, construction, concept design and through life support for a wide range of front line naval and auxiliary support vessels.The Division is expanding rapidly with complex, high-profile defence projects including Type 31 Frigate Design & Build Programme and the Successor Programme as well as providing engineering services to the UK Surface Ship and Submarine fleet. Also, with ongoing additional framework agreements, infrastructure projects, export markets and research & development projects. Therefore, we are looking to grow our existing team, building on a well-established foundation of over 700 staff across the UK. We are recruiting staff in all disciplines, to join us at Bristol, Devonport or Rosyth with flexible working arrangements and UK travel to meet project requirements.Main Purpose of RoleThe Platform ILS Lead is responsible for:1. Managing the schedule for delivery of all the ILS Plans and outputs iaw the contract, and specifically the ILS SoW 2. Ensuring the ILS approach is disciplined, with unified management of all the activities necessary to produce a supportable system design.3. Enabling the support capability to achieve a pre-determined set of measureable objectives within the acceptable cost of ownership.This role will include day to day administration and co-ordination of activities directly related to all contract deliverables and the delivery of associated T31 outputs:4. Maintain the schedule of deliverables as required by the Head of Supportability.5. Act as the ILS lead overseeing completion reporting against the schedule in support of weekly EVM / progress reporting.6. Ensure coherence across ILS and broader Supportability activities.7. Deliver or contribute to the delivery of all supportability contractual outputs for T31, as directed by the Head of Supportability.8. As required contribute to Supportability and Design Reviews.Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and CompetencesThe ILS Platform Lead is experienced to take accountability for the oversight of all ILS Plans looking at all the deliverables subject area and project controls of the ILS Team. Understands the ILS functions and maintains activity disciplines.• Experience in ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) / Supportability and developing the detailed plans and implementation; preferably in the Maritime domain.• Ability to work in a complex, multi-discipline team.• Strong written communication skills; the delivery of well structured, unambiguous technical documentation.• Strong verbal communication skills;• Experience in Project Controls and EVM.Qualifications• Degree or HNC qualified in an engineering discipline (mechanical, marine, electrics/electronics or systems) or relevant experience at the discretion of the Warships Engineering Director / T31 Head of Supportability.• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status.About Babcock InternationalFor more than a century, Babcock, the Aerospace and Defence company, has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly-skilled engineering services.
