Overhead Accountant; Plymouth; 12-month contract; £38.ph Umbrella, Inside IR35 We currently have a requirement for an Overhead Accountant based at our clients site in Plymouth. The postholder will provide financial information and analysis relating to the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit in order to maintain financial control. Main purpose of role Principal tasks and responsibilities to include: Production of, scrutiny of and explanation of monthly overhead accounts for Major Infrastructure Projects, ensuring consistent application of best practice financial controls. To include analysis of under/overspend and information regarding key cost drivers.Production and interpretation of key financial models, including A4’s and contractor schedules. Conduct investigations into labour and overhead costs, interrogate and report as necessary to management. Ensure liaison with Managers to produce forecasts and budgets to established timetables. Engage in monthly reviews with managers and ensure finance are providing the correct level of management information to aid in operational decision making. Perform any ad hoc duties as directed by the Senior Accountant. Required knowledge/ skills The successful applicant will have a strong academic background and will hold an AAT accreditation or above with a proven track record working in accounting positions. Excellent communication skills are essential as is experience of working with non-finance managers and challenging complex financial data. Excellent working knowledge of Excel High quality standards and attention to detail Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Good organisational skills. Sound technical knowledge. Proactive approach to work with flexible attitude towards duties Experience of IFS and / or Business Analytics an advantage Qualifications AAT Qualified / Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent.
