Job Description

We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Ophthalmology Scrub Nurse to join our team in Plymouth. As an Ophthalmology Scrub Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to our patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures.Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for ophthalmic procedures and ensure that all equipment is sterile and in good working order.
  • Scrub in and assist the ophthalmologist during surgical procedures, ensuring that all instruments and materials are ready and available as needed.
  • Monitor patients vital signs and administer medications as needed during procedures.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge and skills in the field of ophthalmology.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Scrub Nurse in ophthalmology.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and infection control procedures.
