Job Title: Nuclear Standards InspectorSF32299Location: Devonport, PlymouthBusiness Unit: SubmarinesSalary: £ 33,210.00 - £40,695.00About the roleHere at Babcock International were looking to recruit a Nuclear Standards Inspector.The Nuclear Standards Branch (NSB) forms an important part of the Governance of Nuclear Safety Implicated work conducted on the DRDL Licenced Site. NSB acts as the independent overseer of a variety of processes and procedures to ensure the required safety and product standards are being complied with using the guidelines and instructions laid down by the Technical Authority. NSB are also the centre of excellence for Remote Visual Inspection on the Devonport site and support projects across the M&T Business.Youll provide oversight of Nuclear Safety Implicated on the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant under Babcock Marine contract control work to rigorously ensure compliance with authorised documentation, cleanliness standards, the integrity of the NSRP and the working practices carried out in the Reactor Compartment. NSIs also carryout Nuclear Procedure coordination duties and support the site Nuclear Accident Response Organisation. The NSI is an ASEQP role.What do I need to do the roleYoull need relevant nuclear refitting support areas experience covering the equivalent of a complete LOP project or two RAMP projects, or equivalent recent relevant experience of operating nuclear plant and facilities including adherence to written systems of work and working in radiologically controlled areas.Would also like you to have experience in all or some of the following:* Nuclear Warship Support Course* Submarine Quality Assurance Course* Nuclear Standards Inspectors Course* Welding Institute Standards 3 - Introduction to Welding and NDT* Liquid Penetrant PCN level 2* CSWIP 3.0 Weld Visuals* Rolls Royce NSRP Component Stain Categorisation Course* ASQEP Course* Nuclear Procedure Co-ordinators Course* Radiation Workers Course* Accident Response Team Training* BTEC Level 3 Engineering or equivalentWhat else do I need to know* The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.* Please follow the link to find out more about how COVID-19 is impacting Recruitment and On-boarding for applicants: * We are happy to talk about flexible working.
