We have multiple opportunities for Mechanical Fitters at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth, supporting warship projects for the MOD.New and improved travelling rates are available for those that are out of area, including significant overtime availability (60 hours+) Rates available start at £15.43 PAYE up to £21.43/hour; Umbrella rates available from £19.19/hour up to £26.93Overtime rates and incentive bonuses also available.Responsibilities:* Remove, install, repair and maintain marine mechanical systems and equipment on board ships and submarines* Remove, overhaul and install a variety of mechanical equipment which could include hydraulics, weapons, water and fuel systems and LP/HP air, among other assets* Working to engineering drawings and technical specifications, youll also install and align new equipment and carry out system and equipment functional tests and surveys.Experience/Qualifications Required:* Experience within the marine industry or similar naval submarine or large commercial ship experience is preferred* Level 3 qualified or relevant apprenticeship * Armed Forces PO/CPO/NCO with mechanical specialisation would also be acceptable* Ability to read mechanical and engineering drawings to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop machinery specific to mechanical fittingRelevant security checks will be completed prior to start date however starts will be offered on basic clearance checks to speed up the process.
