We operate in a high risk environment; therefore we are looking for people who share our understanding and respect for Health and Safetyfor ourselves and each other to ensure that everyone goes home safe every day.Your role will be to ensuring the serviceability and availability of the Cranes, undertaking nuclear refuel and defuel facility maintenance, which is an essential part of Babcocks capability to deliver projects for the Royal Navy on time and to cost.Key work activities include: * Stripping and inspecting various items of mechanical plant. * Brake and Gearbox maintenance.* Strip and Rebuild Rail Tug Units and Low Level Transfer Trollies* Maintain rail turntables, points and tracks.* Maintain steam fed heating and vent systems.What do I need to do the roleYoull need a strong mechanical engineering background and have the ability to use general workshop machinery and read engineering drawings.Would also like you to hold experience in the following:* Indentured Apprenticeship or* Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline or* Armed Forces PO/CPO/NCO with mechanical specialisation.What else do I need to know* The successful candidate will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving Security Check (SC) clearance.* We are happy to talk about flexible working.
