Job Description

Manufacturing Quality Co-ordinator required on a permanent, full-time basis.Competitive salary, based on the outskirts of Plymouth.As a quality Co-ordinator you will have the following duties:

  • Supply the quality support assuring a quality product and service is supplied at all times.
  • Develop expert knowledge of the companys products and systems.
  • Drive a quality-minded culture in the company and ensure that the quality of products and services continually improves.
  • Ensure compliance with the company quality objectives, systems and processes.
  • Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing and Engineering, ensuring that design changes are fit-for-purpose and meet quality standards.
  • Tasks and responsibilities
  • Responsibility to comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties.
  • Ensuring the process works at the optimum level, to the right quality and rate of output.
  • Understand management reporting criteria and prepare management information (KPIs, OIS).
  • Provide support and cover for the Production Supervisor.
  • Effective containment and resolution of Quality concerns at suppliers, in-house and customers.
  • Processing and analysis of customer returns, concerns and defects found in the production (Blocked stock, rework, scrap).
  • To be pro-active in identifying potential concerns and implementing robust corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence
  • Comply with the Health, Safety & Environmental Policy, adhering to all the safety rules ensuring your personal safety and the safety of others. Monitor and correct as applicable.
  • Assist with driving quality improvements within the plant using PPS / 8D tools and methodology.
  • Quality Audits within all manufacturing areas in line with company procedures.
  • Root Cause Analysis and reduction of in process production rework/scrap.
  • Management of production quarantine area, logging of non-conforming product and completion of all relevant electronic transactions.
  • Liaise with design / production engineering for suggested continuous improvements to improve quality/efficiency output.
  • Actively involved in the design of new products, modifications and upgrades.
  • Evaluating existing tools/techniques with focus on Continuous Improvements to optimise quality and efficiency.
  • Provide engineering support to production assembler/tester staff & task training.
  • Participate in process/design.
  • Monitor & control use of current I.T. software & updates in accordance with the company quality management system.
  • Work with closely with the Quality function to understand future ISO and Product directives and implement changes to processes accordingly.
  • Candidates will need the following skills and experience:
  • Vast industry experience within a Technical function Knowledge of PCB schematics/diagrams and preferably able to fault find electronic circuitry to component level.
  • Experience of MRP systems such as SAP (or equivalent).
  • Good level of self-organisation and time management.
  • Good communication and ability to accomplish tasks through cross-functional teams Knowledge and ability in meeting precise electronics standards of work (soldering, ESD control, fundamental circuitry, fault diagnosis).
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of BEST criteria to enable problem identification, and solving techniques.
  • PC skills and user knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.
  • Desirable qualifications:
  • BTEC / HNC / HND in engineering, electronics, quality or related field.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt qualified
  • Recognised ISO9001 Internal Auditing qualification
