An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a hardworking and pro-active individual to join the Company’s Import Department which deals with the shipments in excess of 10,000 containers a year. They are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent attention to detail and who can demonstrate strong organisational, communications and IT skills. Experience in Excel is essential.As an Import Assistant you will be working closely with the Shipping Co-Ordinator and Senior Team. This key role will focus on the scheduling of our container deliveries to our various UK DC locations. Coordinating our containers to ensure the DC delivery slots are maximized, whilst considering the many priorities, site restrictions and cost implications is a challenge, and a constant puzzle to fix! It is not for the faint hearted but rewarding if you enjoy the buzz.Although this crucial role specializes in our containers you will also be required to support, oversea and cover the UK land deliveries with the existing team as necessary.The department is extremely busy, so the ability to multitask, and demonstrate you can work under pressure, whilst maintaining a high standard of work with clear communication and accuracy is essential.The role will suit someone who enjoys a challenge, likes problem solving and who works best when under pressure. The department offers a unique opportunity to experience end to end requirements of international logistics. You will need to have excellent communication skills in this scheduling role which involves a lot of telephone and email work. Reviewing, preparing, and communicating the delivery schedules to our agents & DC sites is crucial. You will need to build a good working relationship with all the key stake holders of the business.Responsibilities
